Focus areas: ‘Animals including ourselves', ‘Materials’, ‘Growing Plants’ with a focus on 'Trees' and ‘Seasons’.

The children use their senses to explore their world. They recognise that animals including humans have similarities and differences. They investigate the properties of different materials and test to see if some are waterproof. During the summer term, the children grow plants from seeds, measure them and label parts of a plant. In their scientific enquiries, the children make predictions, recording results in a table and draw conclusions.  To assist with these focus areas they visit Acton Scott Farm.
