In Year 3, formal recorded French lessons begin and are taught by the class teacher. The main theme throughout the year is All About Me which enables the children to be able to greet others and talk about themselves.

FOCUS TOPICS: Greetings and introductions; Family Members; Sibling situation; Numbers 1 – 13, Colours; Birthday months of the year; activities.

GRAMMAR FOCUS: Introduction to masculine and feminine nouns; recognising possessive pronouns; 5 activity verbs.

INTERCULTURAL UNDERSTANDING: Landmarks of Paris; Christmas in France; Easter in France; Bastille Day; Story of Le Navet Énorme (The Enormous Turnip).
