Focus areas: ‘Living things and their habitats’, ‘Animals including humans’, ‘Properties and changes of materials’ and ‘Forces’.

The children develop their investigative skills through carrying out a range of enquiries. During our unit on ‘Living things and their habitats’, the children will learn to classify different animals appropriately and will develop an understanding of the life cycles of different vertebrates. During the 'Materials' unit, the children learn how materials can be classified based on their properties and how they can be changed by heating and cooling. During the 'Forces' unit, the children will learn about gravity, the effects of water resistance and air resistance, and friction.
