Year 5
Focus areas: How do we know what life was like as an Ancient Egyptian? How did World War Two affect children? How did Ancient Greece influence the world we live in today?
During history sessions, the children use a range of sources to develop their knowledge and understanding of life in Ancient Egypt, including the importance of the Nile, the process of mummification and religious beliefs. To support this learning, children take part in a workshop organised by the Ludlow Museum Service. The children also study World War Two gaining an insight into what life was like for children during this period with a visit to Weston Park. The final period of study is aspects of Ancient Greece including the political system and the Olympic Games.
