Focus areas: ‘Moving Storybooks’ (mechanical control unit), ‘Make do and mend’ (structures and textiles unit) and ‘Pasta Project’ (food unit).

The children develop their designing, making and evaluating skills through a range of projects. They design, make and evaluate a moving book that uses levers and linkages. They recycle materials to design, make and evaluate a container, for example a phone holder or pencil case, using Silhouette software to aid in the designing process.  They also design, make and evaluate a pasta meal, learning about healthy choices.
